Chiyo Sakura is a cheerful high school girl who has fallen head over heels for the oblivious Umetarou Nozaki. Much to Chiyo's confusion, when she confesses to her beloved Nozaki, he hands her an unfamiliar autograph. As it turns out, the stoic teenage boy is actually a respected shoujo manga artist/author, publishing under the pen name Sakiko Yumeno! A series of misunderstandings leads to Chiyo becoming one of Nozaki's manga assistants.
Throughout the hilarious events that ensue, she befriends many of her quirky schoolmates, including her seemingly shameless fellow assistant, Mikoto Mikoshiba, and the "Prince of the School," Yuu Kashima. This Anime follows Chiyo as she strives to help Nozaki with his manga and hopes that he will eventually notice her feelings.

Mikoto Mikoshiba also known as Mikorin, is one of Nozaki's assistants and Yuu Kashima's best friend and classmate.
Mikoto attracts the attention of many girls, and is admired by the males as well. However in reality, he has a timid and "tsundere" attitude. While outwardly he flirts with girls shamelessly and confidently, afterwards, he cringes and becomes embarrassed beyond words at his own actions. It is discovered that his personality is actually the inspiration for Nozaki's heroine character.
Mikoto has no drawing skills when it comes to characters or single objects, but he is skilled at drawing flowers, effects and accessories to bring out the charm in characters.

Chiyo constantly struggles to convey her feelings to her crush Nozaki. Usually jovial, Chiyo is often irked and depressed by her failed attempts to improve her relationship with Nozaki. In her first effort to confess to him he mistakenly misinterpreted her confession as declaring herself as one of his fans much to her dismay. Since helping his mangaka work as an assistant, she has continued her attempts at winning his affection although her endeavors are often fruitless due to a mixture of bad luck and Nozaki's ironic lack of romanticism. Nevertheless, she does not give up and continues to work hard, something that has constantly concerned others about her borderline fixation on Nozaki.

Nozaki is extremely blunt when it comes to things like pointing at a girl's bra and saying that it is showing, and explaining to Sakura that he had never experienced his first love, despite the fact that he claims he is a love expert. He is oblivious and dense when it comes to love and feelings himself, especially those of Sakura. He is so oblivious and dense to the point that he appears silly at times, doing absurd things such as trying on a girl's sailor uniform for research. Despite him being oblivious to Sakura's crush on him, he enjoys her presence and is often seen both around and outside of school with her

It has become Hori's job to see to it that she doesn't slack around, usually doing so in such an aggressive manner that he has gained a reputation as Kashima's Escort. He is often like a doting parent to Kashima, but it may also suggest that he too has feelings for her despite his strong denials.
Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun is a great school romance anime. I got annoyed with how dense Nozaki is but it made it even better. The ending wasn't the greatest but it gave me a good laugh
Sakura looks at fireworks says "love you", Nozaki whispers in her ear "I feel the same, I love fireworks." LIKE COME ON!! ARE YOU THAT DENSE XD
Anyway it is great I really do recommend it.
